The filling might be high. I've had a few fillings that were too high and they caused significant pain on the teeth just above it. It pushed the tooth and bruises the root or something. The dentist sorted it for me. She said its difficult to determine if the filling is right the first time as you are frozen and can't really tell.

Worth asking your dentist about.


edit - nm, missed that you had the filling out. Still may be as it took a while for the top teeth to heal up.
