I think you may have a failing memory. During the downforce era, in which fantasy year did the top 6th driver's overtake each other for wins [rofl]

Only during the non downforce era, when someone like Jack Brabham could own, run and drive for the team, could you get packs of drivers fighting for win at drafting tracks like Monza. Even then close races where just as rare as the nowdays, as the fastest car usually qualified first.

Sure racing in the wet usually makes a better race, but this weekend Silverstone didn't need it.

And if it rains in qualifying, then expect the F1 cars to handle much better in the rain, as they will be set up for it. Unlike last race, where they had to run a dry setup from qualifying and could only dial in some front wing and change tyre pressures.
