And like the rest of these nations, it is led by a utterly kufr regime who are composed of a political establishment which simply changes its face to suit the political winds. Islam Karimov has ruled Uzbekistan since its "independence". He was a communist during Communist imperial rule. After communism collapsed, he was brought into power through Russian machinations and has ruled ever since. Today, he pretends to be a Muslim and rules by authoritarianism like most other rulers of Muslims.

The first 10 years after national independence- 1991 through 2001- Uzbekistan saw a burst of Dawah for Islam and education.culturing. The young generations were taught Islam by dawah carriers and from all over. To offset their influence, Karimov began empowering and spreading government sanctioned ulama to teach and control masajid. In both cases, knowledge was spreading. Karimov found alliance with some sufi leaders, but essentially he has implemented the same strategies as other regimes: find subservient ulama, set up a formal state controlled Islamic structure, outlaw all others.

In any case, Islam is present among the people in Uzbekistan regardless of the government or any groups.

Uzbekistan has been a critical player in America's dominance over Central Asia, as well. America has used the Uzbeki air bases for its invasion of control over Afghanistan.
