I doubt his own followers would take him seriously any longer. Baba has lost great degree of credibility with this entire fiasco.

Not likely. In all likelihood his national presence will go slightly down but personal follower ship will only increase. Take the other examples. Mahesh Yogi's monastery in our locality was called the Bull Farm-think of the Urdu word. Did he vanish from the scene? Yes, only after death. Acharya Rajnish? In spite of Khajuraho and Konark the Indian society takes haya as a way of life but even then Osho kept going great in spite of his liberal philosophy. Thirdly even after exposure of Sathya Sai Baba as a magician by Indian versions of James Randi nothing happened to his popularity.
