I know a bunch of Jordanians who are of the understanding that someone who commits Kaba'ir such as Zina are not Muslim. I was even told how someone with homosexual thoughts cannot be a Muslim, even if he does not act upon it. Obviously it is because they havn't looked at what the Ulama say. But a lot of the ´awwam have these kind of beliefs.
