as the warmer weather is coming here in the UK i want to ask is it allowed to wear vests ?
i wear them because i sweat alot, and my t shirts may get sweaty/smelly. and can be uncomfortable (having sweaty armpit patches aha)

also, will i be allowed to pray salah in a vest ? i have been told just my arwah has to be covered...and have also been told my shoulders have to be covered ? so whats the dress code ?

thanks, much appreciated
jazakallah

Sheikhul Ahadeeth, Mufti Saeed Ahmed Palanpuri explains, that when is performing their fardh prayers, they should adorn themselves with best clothing, based on the ayah:

"O children of ’Ādam, take on your adornment at every mosque. Eat and drink and do not be extravagant. Surely, He does not like the extravagant." [7:31]

He says that this applies to fardh prayers; for nafl prayers, you do not have to be as particular.
And Allaah knows best.
