Well, that's fair. Simplify it enough that anyone can use it. However, Apple should have been chastised with the notifications system in that case, too - I'm aware Samsung didn't "invent" that but everyone copies someone if it's obvious it works.

Exactly.
And just as a reminder, what Steve once said: "Good artists copy - great artists steal", and that's what Apple has been doing all it's history, copy & steal, just like everyone else does.
