I'm not really a physician, but there are many bacteria that meet up with the information that you explained. Most are captured in hospitals, actually
Though at the very least it seems like that didn't occur for the father. Hospitals, consequently, are very good at managing this type of thing. The IV antibiotic must end it (the microorganisms) from doing anymore harm. That said, some pretty significant damage has been probably already done by them, and time will be just taken by that to recover. So long as he's following their directions on just how to keep it (Wrapped, i'd guess, but there are a few times the doctors don't want one to cover it), and change any bandaging frequently, and keep topical antibiotics on it (again when they recommend them), whether multiple like Neosporin, or anything recommended, it must recover in a number of times. If there clearly was substantial damage already, It'll simply take several days, although.
