Established - Elected Americans are normally more ignorant than their electorate.
In each one of the following places, for instance, officeholders do more poorly than non-officeholders: Seventy-nine % of these who've been elected to government office don't know the Bill of Rights specifically forbids creating a formal religion for the U.S. Forty % don't realize that “life, freedom, and the goal of happiness” are the inalienable rights known in the Declaration of Independence. Twenty-seven % can't name even one right or freedom guaranteed in full by the Very First Amendment. Forty-three % don't understand what the Electoral College does. One in five believes it possibly “trains those ambitious for greater political office” or “was established to monitor the very first televised presidential debates.” Fifty-four % don't know the Constitution gives the ability to Congress to declare war. Thirty-nine % think that power belongs to the leader, and 10 percent think it belongs to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Only the free enterprise system can be properly defined by 32%, and only business profit can be identifyed by 41% as “revenue minus expenses.” This ****ing country is hated by me.
