Don't know any Appleese but in Winders you can use the view tab in folder options under control panel and tell it to show 'em to you. The XP I normally use is so old and junky now it sometimes just randomly makes regular old files hidden for no particular reason so I keep it on show hidden files. Winders also likes to stuff music files and such under 'My Documents' which is more of a Winders device than a simple single file location.
