my brother,

May Allah grant your father 100% complete recovery and health, and may He bless you and your family with all that is good in this life and in the hereafter. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah brother you are doing the right thing by making lots of dua and doing lots of dhikr. Also I probably don't need to say this to you but guard your daily 5 times salat without exception Insha'Allah. If, Allah-forbid, you miss one for some reason, consider it a 911 emergency and make that salat up as soon as possible. Pray tahajjud and then cry and make dua to Allah for all your needs. Even if you are tired and can only manage 2 rakats then do that, for the last 3rd of the night (time before Fajr time starts) is one of the times when duas are accepted by Allah .

Brother here is some advice a sheikh gave to a brother who was recently in a similar situation (a family member was really sick):

- Give sadaqa every single day no matter the amount, even if a penny.
- Stay away from major and 'minor' sins.
- Make your fardh salat on time, in Jamaat preferably, even if it takes extra effort to do so.
- Make a lot of astaghfaar throughout the day.
- Recite "Yaa Hayyu Yaa Qayyoom birahmatika astagheeth" abundantly.
- Recite " La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka inni kuntu mina z-zalimin" abundantly.

Brother one of the key things also right now for you is to Insha'Allah be there for your mother and any other family members and be a source of strength and patience of them Insha'Allah. Submit yourself to Allah and cry to him in dua and ask him to give you the strength to remain steadfast for yourself as well as be able to be there properly for your mother and others as well.

In regards to your worries about how you will provide for your family if the unthinkable happens, brother that's a legitimate worry and may Allah reward you for having concern for your family like that, but we need to understand that Allah is The Provider, not us. He sustains everything from the smallest ants and insects in the depths of the earth, to fish and animals in the depths of the ocean, to every single human being, and all other creation. One sheikh once said in his bayan that if we think of things from the perspective that we are doing everything, then they most definitely seem and prove to be very difficult, but if we realize 100% that Allah swt is doing everything, not us, then all of the sudden it becomes much, much easier. May Allah swt give me understanding of this as well. Ameen.

Also remember bro that the bottom line is that Qadr (fate/destiny) is from Allah swt, and it has all already been written, so we must accept what Allah swt has written for us as only and only He knows best.

Your father, your mother, you, and your family will be in my duas Insha'Allah.
