Why do Armenians/Georgins/Azeris pretend to be European?
 

The historic boundary of Europe was set at the river Don by Strabo and remained such until Russia decided to expand the border of Europe on the map in the 18th -
19th century to make themselves feel more European, before Russia conquered Caucasia nobody would even pretend Georgia is in Europe.

It's not about skin colour, there are many de-pigmented Caucasians but my point is they are undeniably in Asia yet pretend to be in Europe, they have culturally allot more in common with eastern Turkey and North Western Iran than with Poland or France or Hungary.

Christianity aside this, is about Caucasia and how Russian makers decision to shift the boundary on purpose in the 19th century so that more of Russia as a whole would seem European and how it has had a knock on effect on Caucasia after Caucasia was conquered a region that was historically never considered part of Europe and even today the UN does not consider Armenia/Georgia/Azerbajan European, they cling on to the Russian link to Europe in their minds yet on the ground they are most certainly not.

Some Georgians say they re European due to the fact that out of dual choice between Europe and Middle East they prefer first one which is kind of closer culturally than a stereotypically Middle Eastern country. A lot of Georgians identify as Caucasians. Some view themselves as Orthodox/Byzantine.
Azeris don't really see themselves as European.

Armenians look more exotic than people in photo on average. Eastern Georgians are also woggier than girls in the photo on average.

Politically South Caucasus is considered part of Europe. Armenia and Georgia are even considered eligible countries for EU membership. That being said, as I've said before, Armenians identify themselves as just Armenians not grouping with any larger group. Azeris to my knowledge identify themselves more with Turkic identity, Georgians more with Caucasian identity.

What about Armenian and Georgian diaspora. Who do they normally associate with, out marry into, etc. ?

Well Armenian diaspora tends to be insular, so marry with one another. In Russia, with the biggest Armenian diaspora, there are quite a few Russian-Armenian marriages.

Georgians very quickly assimilate into Euros (with the exception of criminals). Armenians tend to retain their identification longer among both Euros and non-Euros. Georgians have a diaspora of sorts in Iran where live descendants of people resettled by Shah Abbas. They seem to retain Georgian identification despite being mixed heavily in ehtnic sense. Turkish Georgians are rather assimilated.

This about why they pretend to be something they're not and prentend as if they have nothing in common with their neighbours ( i.e Georgia having nothing to due with Turkey) they musically, culturally, genetically and geographically have had more in common with historically.
