I think you look also Kurdish / Persian, that's why I said to you, you look East Turkish or you could fit/pass in East Turkey, as many people in East Turkey are not ethnic Turks especially Southeast they are usually Kurds or some sort of mixed or straight other Middle Easterners . |

I know, thanks, I think it will be a good idea to study genetics similarities between kurds and pashtuns for example, i haven't seen studies comparing them, even though they are both Iranic culturally and language wise Maybe Sout Asian admixture might be the connection or South and Southwest Asian admixtures ? Anyway about Kurdish admixture: ![]() |

Armenians mostly, since they have been our best allies during the Byzantine era. Then other Christian nations like Georgians and Assyrians. Jews should be included, since they lived among Greeks as well. Also, despite being enemies, I accept that we share many cultural elements with the Turks. I know we might have connections with other ethnicities, but I decided to mention the basic ones.

Good poll. I can connect to most of them, and I've had friends, classmates, professors, and neighbors with many of those West Asian groups. For example, my former Armenian neighbor from Lebanon and some Armenians through work; my Syrian, Lebanese, Israelis, and Persian classmates; my Turkish Art History professor. I may have met Georgians, Kurds, Azerbaijanis, Assyrians, and Gulf Region Arabs also, but I just did not know them to be from there.

i voted Georgians, although i see them as Caucasus Europeans and not as West Asians..i guess i voted them because they are most similar to myself from what little iknow about them, plus they have awesome traditional costumes Because the only reason I could see you calling them European is due to religion, and given that you are a secularist..... |

As a Turk of course I feel connected to my own people first but other than that I don't feel a special connection with any other West Asian. The only thing that bonds me with other West Asians are the same religious beliefs accompanied by humbleness and piety, I don't differentiate between West Asians based on ethnicity or with any other ethnicity/race for that matter, ethnicity is irrelevant in my case.
Anyway, I voted Turks. |

Are you basing this on genetics? Language? Or culture? European in due to regional location.. |
