Default Seahawks do deal with Braylon Edwards
Seahawks do deal with Braylon Edwards

Getty Images The Miami Dolphins worked out free agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards last week, but he was not immediately signed. Some loose reports suggested the Dolphins were still legitimately interested. That may have been the case, but Edwards chose to take his talents northwest instead.
Dave “Softy” Mahler of KJR Sports Radio in Seattle is reporting that Edwards will sign with the Seahawks.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a one-year deal.
Edwards, 29, was the biggest name remaining on the free agent market after struggling with his performance and injuries in San Francisco last season. He managed just 15 catches in nine games for the Niners, and didn’t score a touchdown. Jim Harbaugh’s club waived Edwards late in the year, and he went unclaimed.
In Seattle, Edwards will challenge for a roster spot behind Sidney Rice. The Seahawks’ other starting receiver position appears to be wide open. Second-year man Doug Baldwin does look to be entrenched in the slot.
Edwards’ primary competition will come from Golden Tate, Antonio Bryant, and Ben Obomanu.
