Football offers a lot of wonderful things for kids and their parents, but does it offer anything that another, safer sport can't provide? When you consider the likelihood of your kid becoming a professional football player, is it really worth it to risk the child's health and well-being? And even assuming your child will eventually become a professional football player, are the millions of dollars worth it if your child may end up with permanent and long-term brain issues?
Football is a great sport and I love watching it -- but should parents seriously consider preventing their child from playing the sport based on the many injury risks, specifically traumatic brain injuries? |
