Kenny McKinley, a wide receiver for the Broncos and former South Carolina star, was found dead in Arapahoe County, Colo. of an apparent suicide, Fox 31 in Denver is reporting.

No further details were available, according to the report.

Denver drafted McKinley in the fifth round of the 2009 draft (No. 141 overall). He saw limited action in eight games last season before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. The Broncos again placed him on IR prior to the 2010 season.

In four years at South Carolina, McKinley caught 207 passes and 19 touchdowns. His best season came in 2007 when he was named to the All-SEC team with 77 receptions for 968 yards and nine touchdowns.

had a friend from high school kill himself the year after we graduated.

whatever you're going through, it's not as difficult or upsetting as what your family will go through if you choose to take your life.

very sad.

Agreed.
Being in a family that suffered a suicide, I am not sure I agree that this statement is true in all cases. In our case as much as we grieved, my brother made it clear (by trying 3 times) that he did not fit in this world and his suffering ended then.
That being said my heart goes out to this young mans family.

I agree with you, you're totally right. But you're also speaking without clouded judgement.

People that are suffering from deep depression aren't thinking straight and don't see things clearly. They're hurting really bad and just want a way out.
