Default Carroll to Seattle?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4810861

I'm not sure I think this is all that great of a move. Remember the Pete Carroll, Patriots experiment before Belichick? He didn't have too much success there. Somehow, I thinking he's setting himself up for a similar situation.

I agree...this seems destined to go poorly.

Maybe he's one step ahead of the NCAA. There's been plenty of shady dealings while he was at USC.

That and i think had he had full control of the Pats he might have fared better.

Regarding $C, *nobody* can control or oversee that many players and their dealings with the alums there...it's just too big a job.

He may have known about the SUV's and other stuff going on and left himself a bit of 'plausible deniability' room so that he could say he wasn't aware, but even if he tried to actively counsel his players not to give in to alum moola temptations or the scouts who work for the sports agents etc, that's still a big job.

I, for one, am LM(ever-loving-happy)AO over this because the cycle is beginning to turn. UCLA pwned $C in the 90's (8-straight). They got us back this decade (although they never won 8 straight). And now we're about to just thump their sad asses the next 10 years under Neuheisel with a team that's made some major strides over the past 2 yrs.

I just read the Seattle Times comment sections and no one wants Pete as their coach.
