Default Tony Romo: Laughing Stock of the NFL?
Anybody hear the comments that Ben Rolksadfasdberger said about Romo?

He said something about buying him an all expenses paid trip to Mexico prior to their game.

Jimmie Johnson went to Mexico on the off week after winning the race at Phoenix. No doubt he'll crash in the first lap in the next race.

Because everyone knows you can't go to Mexico on your week off and relax.

If an athlete goes out drinking on his days off and shows up to the next game still not fully recovered from the party, is that a problem?

Yes.

But I don't see that as being the same thing in this case.

I can't believe people are still talking about this. What a non-story.

Why would that matter? How would that bear on the upcoming race/game/championship?

If you think what Romo did was wrong, it shouldn't matter whether he was playing towards his first championship or his tenth.

And Roethlisberger should be one to talk about conduct that is supposedly detrimental to a team. I seem to remember he got in a motorcycle accident when he wasn't wearing a helmet and didn't have a valid license. After being lectured by his coach and other members of his team.

So Tom Brady spending his off week in New York City with his famous girlfriend is somehow better because he already has a Super Bowl ring?

Still not spending the prep time with teammates. Not spending the prep time with coaches. Travel time/possible jetlag. Media following you around. Distraction from football. Etc. Etc.

I guess I don't know your specific reasons for thinking Romo's actions were wrong, but the above seem to be reasons I've heard so far. No difference between Romo and Brady. But according to your reasoning, Brady's is okay because he already has a Super Bowl ring.

I fail to see how a game a week later was affected by whether he was sitting in his house with his girlfriend or sitting at a resort with his girlfriend.
