Default Tampa Bay submits replay rule change
NFL | Tampa Bay submits replay rule change
Wed, 22 Mar 2006 20:27:16 -0800
Ira Kaufman, of the Tampa Tribune, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have submitted a proposal that will be considered by league owners meeting in Orlando next week that would expand the scope of instant replay to include all penalties. "We're offering the suggestion that all penalties that are called should fall within the realm of instant replay," Bucs general manager Bruce Allen said. "We suggest any penalties that are called be subject to review. After reviewing hundreds of plays, we feel it's time to expand on instant replay, since we have a system in place."

I don't know about this. Then the next thing they will want to have 3 challenges a game instead of 2. I'm for instant replay, just not sure about the penalties though.

IF they do this, they need to have an 'in the booth' ref who's specialty is the replay call. The only time it goes up to him is when a coach calls for it - no more of this last 2 minutes crap.

Wouldn't that be a great way for 'retired' refs, who can't keep up on the field, to keep working, lending their expertise to the game?

if theyre gonna change anything, they need to make "down by contact" calls reviewable, those are the ones that are fucking up games.
