Default Photo Transfer software
What software do you folks use to transfer photos to your computer?

Is there anything that will copy the original file over but also auto-resize a second copy at a lower resolution?

I'm pretty selective about the photos I choose to resize/post-process, and I'm not particularly fussy about automation... so I usually just dump all the RAWs onto my hard-drive, then I use Canon Digital Photo Professional to make non-destructive simple changes (white balance, crop etc) to good photos and tag them. When I'm doing going through the batch of photos, I select all tagged ones, then do a batch process.

This isn't what you asked for, but it might be a workflow you could consider.

Depending on the camera, you can do that post transfer: Shots get stored in RAW and Jpeg.
But like YCH says: I just transfer all my photo's via Lightroom and then make a selection.
Use a few presets to output jpegs for forum use (1024 max longest side quality 8) and printing (original size, quality 10) ect ect.
