Back in October i was all set to buy a Nikon D700 & the Nikon 50mm F1.4 just to get me up & running, so went to jessops just to check them out & order it online from Warehouse Express .
While i found the D700 nice to use i then relized to get the best out of full frame bodies i was going have to spend a huge amount on glass again, even thou the cheapish 50mm F1.4 was great. Anyroads in the end i decided to stick with Olympus as i already have some really good glass for this system & just added the new 9-18mm last month & Sigma 30mm F1.4 which is a brilliant lens no front or back focus issue's from what i can tell and razor sharp from F 2.0 upwards. Now just bought the E-3 grip and awaiting the brand new Olympus E-30 semi pro spec, which should be released in the next couple of weeks at the latest & can't wait to get my hands on one. here a few pics of it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Only things that dissapoint me slightly with this camera is the lack of weathersealing and only a 230k screen. But on the upside ISO 800-3200 is greatly improved & so is the DR making currently the best DSLR from Olympus untill the E-5 is released sometime this year. |

With all those superwide lenses I would expect you to love full frame. But I can understand the cost of lenses quite well. I'm trying to only buy FF lenses for that reason myself.
edit: I just realized that's probably a four thirds camera. so ignore all my comments ![]() Anyways, nice camera. I'm a fan of non-static screens. |

The reason i was going to go full frame was mainly for better DOF & alot better ISO, but after a good think i don't use high ISO to often, as i use the flash with difusser meaning i can get indoor shot's at iso100.
With the Sigma 30mm F1.4 i can now get really shallow DOF when i need it for still life. Im happy using Olympus even though it has it shortcomings, compared to aps-c & full frame but i've learned how to work round them. 4/3 is 2x so the 9-18mm really is 18-36mm & the 12-60mm is 24-120mm. |

What lenses do you have for the oly? And what body? I have the 510 with the kit lenses and a sigma 24mm f1.8 (my favorite lens) and am loving it I use to have the 510 great little camera till my sensor went belly up init. ![]() It was a tossup between the 24mm & the 30mm but opted for the latter with it being faster and having a silent focusing to. |
