Default Camcorder- Need to buy one but Cant choose!
All,
My aunt is moving to the US with her family and I would like to start saving memories with a camcorder. Plus I want to give it to my father as a christmas gift. My budget is no more than 600 dollars.
So far the Canon Vixia HG20 has caught my eye especially since prices are dropping really fast for them (I wonder why)... One can be found from 529-599 and I need the an HD camcorder.
Single CMOS sensor plus no no viewfinder are a little lame but overall I have heard nothing but good things about the camcorder...
Anyone have any suggestions or opinions?

THanks in advance!

I just ordered a Panasonic HDC-SD9.

Maybe not quite as good as the latest Canons, but it gets good reviews and the price of £360 cannot be argued with. All the others I was considering were at least £100 more.

Any of the latest gen of Canons are good, beat pretty much anything from Sony and co. Don't worry about the CMOS sensor, it's the best option to go for in this price range, the CCD camcorders aren't as good.

I got myself a Canon HV30 (pretty much the best sub $2000 HD camcorder ATM), but it might be out of your price range.
