Sorry! I misread your post, thinking you were saying that the R8 was selling at £20K AND not selling at an additional £20K above the purchase price. I saw another one on the motorway a couple of days ago. It was funny how it occured because I saw one of the new TT's going the other way and for a second I thought "Is that an R8?" then realised it was a TT and looked away and then literally 2 seconds behind it was an actual R8 and I had to think "Did I just imagine that?". It was definitely real though ![]() |

I understand why he park so far away, but still doesn't give him the right to park over the lines. |

Yes and they are good cars especially th RS series... Very well built these days. But because of the bad history and experiences (My father owned 2 VWs and 1 audi) everytime I hear Audi or VW.. I get flash backs and cringe. ![]() ![]() Anyway, I am going to be biased with my views because I own one. Everyone has good or bad experiences with cars and I suppose I'm a lucky one because my Audi could teach my old BMW E46 3-series a thing or two about quality and refinement [thumbup] |

Am I correct in thinking you live in the States? If so, you wont be driving the same European built cars that we do I even drove the MK2 home once after a trip away, on 3 cylinders, drove over 200 miles like that, and then refurbished the engine myself. Never owned an Audi, but everyday I see loads of old Audi's on my way to work, some with probably several 100,000 miles on the clock, considering their registration age, and they all seem to be running fine. |

They are not releasing the V12 TDI... sorry to burst your bubble. Wikipedia quote :- However, due to extra cooling design work done for the V12 TDI concept, a breakthrough was made, and the initial plan for the use of the 5.0 litre V10 from the RS6 is now currenly in the final design stages, so much so that the car has now been signed off for production, and will appear during the second quarter of 2009. |

I have seen one of those around town. They are very lovely cars. It is amazing how well VW put this thing together when they just put parts together that they found in their warehouses. If I was able to buy one, I would wait for the diesel hands down.
Also, don't get too jealous of him owning this car with him younger then you. For all you know, he could be covered in debt to his eyeballs and be extremely suicidal. It has been a while since I have seen anything sweet around town. Well, sweet and rare. |

Top Gear site :- http://www.topgear.com/content/featu...ries/09/1.html This is from 3/20/08, so unless it's changed in the last month or other news confirms otherwise, its still valid, as I haven't heard any details of it otherwise. EDIT: Posted today 4/29 on Motor Authority: Whether or not Audi will in fact build a V12-powered R8 TDI diesel supercar is still up in the air but a handful of journalists from around the world have been fortunate enough to drive the concept version. Executives plan to make a final decision for production by the middle of the year after all considerations concerning the economy and market forces are taken into account. One of the biggest hurdles the R8 V12 TDI faces is the fact that Audi has plans to launch a new V10 RS-R8 flagship. Considering the niche status of both cars it doesn’t make sense for Audi to separately develop and launch two different range-topping R8 models. For now the closest thing we have to seeing the real thing on the road is the driving video from our colleagues at Sweden’s Auto Motor and Sport. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/c...car/#more-5635 |
