Over the past couple of years I have attempted to make a website for my photography but get half way and stop. Mostly because I have yet to find a good way to upload photos, and have the gallery built for me, instead of having to do everything manually, at the same time having the gallery fit in to the design of my site. I do alot of photo shoots for people, and this would help a great deal to be able to put proofs on the site easily.
My current attempt is here, the only gallery that works is my travel section. Because I didn't feel like finishing the rest of them. So something with a easy to use back end that I could upload to and have galleries made on the fly would be very very nice! |

Looking at your site, you have done it all with images (at least on the intial pages), and then mapping the links onto the images themselves.
I too got annoyed with the photo websites - none of them had the styles or layouts I wanted, so I created my own simply HTML site in Dreamweaver. Yes, its a manual approach, but its minimal, actually fairly quick, and I think better than the photo website offerings out there (and does not need flash): http://www.picturepunk.com/ |

I personally dislike flash based galleries.
I have had success in the past with Gallery2 http://gallery.menalto.com/ These days, however, I just use pbase for my gallery needs. |
