I have no favorite lens because I only have two, and they are of different focal length ranges that I need depending on the situation :P

Canon 17-40 F4L
Canon 70-200 F4L

Been out of photography awhile now, and my trusty ol' Canon 300D is broken

Yeah, I'm probably gonna get a 40D or a 5D (or their future equivalents) when I feel the photography bug bite me again. I would really like to buy the 1D Mark III (now that I know the AF+high temps issue is fixable by Canon) but it's probably out of my price range. For a short while, I owned and used a film version of the 1D and it is

From my Bronica, it's so sharp and a perfect all round focal length.

Shot at f/4, on fuji 400H.

100% crop from a 5000x3700 scan (equivalent to 18.5MP).

Indeed, it is the new a700, and i love the thing. If you want to see some photos with this lens and camera combo:

It is a heavy lens, but it has never failed to get a shot (a bit of a learning curve though, as it does take getting used to).[thumbup]

I know - i blame FM for my increased vocabulary (lord knows i wouldn't have started saying "Cheers!" otherwise...[rofl])

Indeed - getting a good Sigma is the hard part. I have two 400 5.6s sitting by me that I am not hot about, and have already gone through a Bigma (50-500) with focusing issues...

Thankfully though, this 300 is good, so I am happy.

I love my 100-400 canon lens. On my way back from costa rica at the moment, with more than 2000 photos taken with this lens. I bloody hope they are in focus!
