Default Macro or Wide angle?
I want to purchase a new lens for my Digital Rebel XT before I go on my trip to florida but I'm not sure which one to get. I would love both but it isn't feasible. The lenses I own currently are the 50mm and a 70-300mm. It's a tough decision...

Without knowing a budget, it's tough to say, but you could always buy a moderately expensive WA of your choice and pair that or your 50mm with a set of extension tubes, like the Kenko set that comes at a very reasonable price (~$130).

Given the two lenses you have currently, I would say go for a wider angle lens. For landscapes and city shots, you'll find 50mm is too long for many shots.

Heck, I find 24mm on my 24-105 is too long at times - thats why I bought the 10-22 !

IMO definitively a wide. Macros are fun as well. What make is the 70-300 lens cos the sigma and tamron ones are macro (1:2 magnification).

The 70-300mm is Canon. I was either considering to get the Canon 10-22mm or the Canon 100mm macro lens. I think the wide will be a better choice because it will be useful for trying to photo Niagara Falls. I live really close by them but the 50mm isn't even close to wide enough.

It really depends on what things what you want to shoot. It would say that a wide will probably be more used, unless you specifically want to take macro shots.
