Default Suggestions of r Digi camera for music festival
I'm off to Glastonbury festival next week but between the group of friends that are going no one has got a decent camera so I decided to invest in a compact camera. I was thinking of buying the Canon IXUS 850 IS, can be had for around £150 form ebay, unfortunately the zoom is less than stellar (3.8X) which might be a bit lacking when it comes to taking pics of bands on stage from a certain distance but I guess I have to make do. I was wondering if anyone else can vouch for this camera or make another recommendation?

I guess you need low light performance. The low light performance king is fuji. Fuji f20, f30, f31fd are compacts with 3x zoom (around 114mm top end which is quite short). Nothing comes close to these cameras for low light performance. If you need more reach the fuji s6500fd (s6000fd for US) uses the same super ccd sensor as the F series and has a 10x zoom (300mm telephoto).

Thanks for the suggestion djorgji, the Fuji f31fd looks very promising especially as stated the low light performance, only qualm I have with the camera is the zoom which starts at 36mm, was hoping for a wider angle lens.

Wow looks like a fantastic camera and damn cheap as well, £150, I might just end up picking this one up but I have already got a hefty digital slr the Canon 5D, was really looking for a compact camera but I think this is too good pass on.
