Default A couple of new works from an old school onion (56k warning)
Hey, it's good to be back at FM, while i can't find the password for my old account, i wanted to share a couple of paintings that i've done, and would enjoy any feedback you would be able to present me with.

The days of the ghettotastic bong are over, and instead, i'm finding myself living a life dedicated to the arts. Visual arts, music, writing, poetry, crafts, really anything that inspires me. These are some of my more recent efforts

Accept my apologies for the file sizes and poor photography with these. I just got this camera, and have little clue how to use it. Any photography suggestions would be welcome as well. (aside from shrink the first picture, photobucket is giving me problems)

This is my most recent work, oil on canvas, and i'm constantly amazed as to how well it turned out. It's a major departure from what i typically paint, but still am really impressed by it

It's been too long since i've been here, the rules have changed so much. I remember when sig limits were 600x250 pixels...

Lovely stuff!

I really wish that I could paint/draw. but I'm absolutely hopeless. I'm ok if it's something technical like a plan, but when it comes to actual freehand creativity, all I can manage are stick figures.
Maybe I should get some training [yes]

Yeah, i noticed you were still around divine_madcat, good to see you again too.

And lugole, i would suggest taking some classes if you really want to learn how to draw. Everyone has the capacity to create something amazing, but there are a lot of common mistakes new artists make. If you insist on working alone, my advice would be to carefully copy a drawing made by someone else. Either physically measure out where details are supposed to be and fill them in on a second layer, or draw while constantly looking at your reference. It's when you let your imagination fill in the details that you intially in trouble. Just be careful, have patience, and you could become a great artist.

Yo dude, I see you actually did post your painting on here. Like I said last night I really like it alot. I'm glad to see ya on here for once, it's been quite a while since I've seen your name on anything besides AIM. If you have the same email address you did when you originally registered, I'm sure you can retrieve your old username. Looking forward to meeting up with ya soon.

Thanks for the tips Ebonyks, very much aprreciated [thumbup]

I'm definitely doing some serious consideration about doing some kind of course/evening class. I'll take a look at the local college to see what they have on offer
