Default Question for 350D owners
I was going to upgrade my 300D to one becuase I could get one for cheap. But I was playing with one in the store the other day and there were a couple of things that bothered me.

1. The shutter made a very annoying noise when fired, like a cross between a cheap disposable camera and a zipper. I much prefer the more solid sound of the 300D and really liked the 30D.

2. To change the settings like ISO for example you had to hit the ISO button which brought up the color screen menu to change options. Is it possible to make it like the 300D where when you hit the ISO button you do all the adjustments on the monochrome lcd read out?

Thanks!

Nope, on the 350D you have to change the ISO by using the menu.

A lot of people have bitched about this actually, - and I really don't know why they decided on this change.

As for the shutter noise - its different, - not much you can do about that. My 30D also makes a different noise to my 300D.

Well at least I am not the only one who has a problem with the design.

And the shutter noise it almost sounded like it was broke, but it still took pictures fine so I didn't think it was. Very cheap sounding IMO, unlike the 30D.

Ugh, maybe I should just go for the 30D. [surrender]

If you can stretch to it, then my advice would be to do so.

The 350D is a fairly minor upgrade to the 300D, whereas the 30D is PROPER upgrade, and a very different bit of kit all together.
