I might have started a bit of a Canon / Nikon war [rofl]

I posted this shot over at DPReview, to highlight the 30D's capabilities at high ISO:

There's no comparing the shots. They're so completely different in subject matter, composition and apparent ambient lighting (and they've likely been scaled and cropped in different ratios/proportions) that results from one are meaningless for the other.

Surely its the same sort of thing as comparing Nvidia/Ati screenies, you'd need to take the exact same picture, in the exact same place, with the exact same settings and the exact same light.

You're probably right, and judging by the two shots themselves, I'm going to say Chris is probably the more skilled photographer. Either way from what I see here, the visible noise is less noticable (under the circumstances) in Chris' photo.
