I'm planning on buying a Powershot S1 IS very soon, i'm not sure what the difference between type 1 and 2 cards are or whether they are backwards compatible but does anyone know if this card will work with it:

As far as I know Type II contians the specification for Microdrive. Type II also has faster speed but a device that uses it can use Type I. Type III is out and is much faster for devices that can use it.

But yeah most cameras out now are compatible with Type II.
