Default What's a good starter lens?
I know this is strictly a Digital Art board but I just bought a brand new Canon EOS 300X body for £40 and I want to know what would be a good lens to get started with? I know the kit lens is a 28-80mm would that be a good starting point?
Thanks

Yor kit lens will be fine for you for the moment until you get the hang of your camera. Then you will realize what you want, either wider or telephoto. But i agree with solidshot, the 50mm f/1.8 would be very good to play around with and learn from since it has a large max aperture, great for portraits and low light.
