She is praying for good luck and protection as some danger may be involved. People do it when they get in the car before they set off.

My guess, she’s grateful that she succeeded in climbing up there.

Or about Thai belief, when my family had transportation business, all our oil truck drivers believe that there are spirits protecting them, trucks or vehicles that used in making a living. We perform sên wâi ritual (make offerings to those spirits) once a year which is very important to their morale. The truck drivers have the rule to forbid women, children or whoever to climb up to the front of their trucks for fun. I used to ask them the reason of this prohibition, some said it’s the place of those who protect them, they risk their lives in these vehicles every day, it’s the faith to make them feel reassured.

From the video, this woman stepped at the front of this crane, it might be the case, anyway it's just my guess, could be other reason. There is old belief that prohibits women to go in specific places and others.

I think this is the same belief as “Mae Yaa Nang” female spirit who lives in front of a boat, she can bring luck or disaster to the fisherman/boatman, protects them and gives them more fish. They always worship Mae Yaa Nang before setting out.
