It may not be anything to do with Waterman. According to a poster on the other site, neither Young nor ames were ever going to be picked due to a personality clash with one of the selectors.

Who are the WA selectors this year?

Apparently it's Subiaco’s Chris Waterman, with Marc Webb (Claremont), David Hynes (East Perth) and Paul Peos (Subiaco) appointed as assistants. Brad Wira is the Chairman of Selectors.

I don't really see how any of those selectors would know Ames or Young personally.

I don't see what the problem is with Davis pulling out, at least he has been up front and honest and not bullshit people. His reasons are perfectly valid. Waterman doesn't rate Perth anyway so now he won't have any Perth players in the squad. Good riddance. Or will Waterman take note of Leons advice and pick a younger Perth player? Matt Rogers, Chris Billings, Matt Tedesco, Michael Florio, Simon Donovan, Allister Smith?

As I have said in the past, there should be a policy of picking at least one representative from each WAFL club anyway. In the interests of my club I am glad Leon has pulled out.

We don't need it to get worse plus that would provide the faithful at Perth with more excuses for the coach.

I know this seems shallow but i just can't excited about barracking for a side in that poxy state jumper. I reckon it's lame (duck - get it), sorry!!

Our state jumper should be the gold with the black sash and WA state logo in the corner. I know it is the state of origin guernsey but i can't see why it can't be used for all state games including under age champs.
