I can live with everyone there but Musberger.

All Jarretts are great announcers. Glenn was great in the pits, Ned was great in the booth.
Ned's call on DJ winning the Daytona 500 in 1993 is one of my favorite all time sports moments.

I think there was a show recently on SPEED that replayed that tape, too. That was great.

As for this broadcasting team. *sigh*. Forgive me if I can't stand Rusty Wallace the announcer. I love Rusty, he is a nascar legend and all that. But Rusty makes my ears hurt when he's announcing/commentating/interviewing, etc. And Musburger doing pre-race is of no concern to me, I rarely watch pre-races anyway.

I didn't really read the article, I thought Musburger was going to be in the booth not doing the prerace. That's a plus, I didn't mind Jerry Punch. Is he really a doctor? Not really sure what Rusty brings, I haven't seen much of his announcing.

Jerry Punch is really a doctor.

Jerry Punch, M.D. (born August 20, 1953) is an auto racing and college football commentator on ESPN. Dr. Punch also does local radio spots in Knoxville. He served as backup quarterback for Lou Holtz at North Carolina State and graduated magna cum laude in 1975. He attended Wake Forest University for medical school.
Dr. Punch worked as an emergency room physician before moving to ESPN in 1984 as a pit reporter for NASCAR races. In 1988, in two separate incidents, he helped with the rescue efforts after the serious wrecks of Rusty Wallace and Don Marmor. Punch has also been ESPN's medical expert for discussion of medical issues which have arisen, which can happen, and has also called play-by-play for college basketball, and has served as a sideline reporter for college football.
On October 12, 2006, he was named the lead lap-by-lap commentator for ESPN's coverage of the NEXTEL Cup Series and the Busch Series starting in 2007 along with Rusty Wallace and Andy Petree.

I was hoping for a different outcome in that one
