Alonso. I couldn't give it to Vettel because he should have started from P1 and left everyone behind - his mistakes are proving too costly.

Webber and Vettel for keeping their cool.

Not acting as someone with brain fade as lewis.

Forgot. rosberg did well to.
You also forgot the guy that got pole, fastest lap and the win in only the second best car

Drivers, who have usually been impressive at Singapore so far - Alonso, Rosberg and Glock - managed to make their point again.

I also have to praise Webber's and his engineer's strategical thinking this season. They often take gambles, which are different to others, but they have paid off (Malaysian qualifying, Hungary, Singapore). Canada was a failure in that row though.

It should be driver of the race, not driver of thee weekend.

but anyway...

I did not give it to him either, because with arguably a faster car he seemed unable to even attempt a passing move all race long. Instead radioing in that he was not pushing that hard at times. Meanwhile alonso was getting every last ounce of performance out of his car to stay ahead and push for a win. So where was RBR and Vettel on that one. Why did he not push or go all out? that is why imo, he doesn't get a darn thing.

btw we are still waiting to see Vettel do a competitive pass for a podium position this year.

Fernando didn't make a mistake, and it's a good thing because Seb was ready to pounce. Top notch drives from both. When they came back after Kovy's fire I couldn't believe how close Sebastian had pulled the gap.

Honorable mention to Rubens, Nico, and Kubica as well. Considering the machinery they are in, very impressive drives.

Me too, as long as his attempt is on MW or LH.

we get it you don't like schumi

but when you are polluting other threads with your hatefest, it becomes rather tiresome. How about resisting the urge to slam him in every thread. at this point, it says more about you than him
he is kind of a Bizzaro Ioan.. maybe it's too much but I can't get mad... he hits a soft spot for me

My vote goes to Alonso. Another perfect race.

I don't blame Vettel for not passing. Passing Alonso on a street circuit, when he never makes even a slight mistake? It's overwhelmingly tough. As we saw, at times he was trying to get as close as possible, but that was it. And in the team radio there were concerns about brakes, which is why I suspect "he wasn't pushing" in some phases of the race. Or perhaps it was an attempt to fool Ferrari.

It's clear that situations like Vettels is what Bernie wants to address with medals - he would've had much more to lose by staying in second, and everything to gain by going for a risky pass.

Anyway driver of the race is Alonso for doing everything he had to throughout qualifying and the race.

Actually if Vettel knew his car was faster than Alonso, he should stay at the track for couple laps when Alonso was entering the pit. Commonly it gives benefit to driver who comes to the pit later, creating some gaps with driver previously in front.

Alonso pitted first, he might have calculated the risk, on the new tires he can retake the lead from Vettel in case Vettel took it at time during which Alonso pitted in. The radio message saying that he wasn't pushing could not work to fool Alonso

can't say anyone other than Alonso, he dorve a fdirecly competitive and mature race under great race long pressure and despite several saftey car interruptions. totally mistake free and right back in the championship. It seems maybe Germany was the right decision by Ferrari after all, much as i hate to admit that and that Alonso was the top dog yesterday

Has to be Fernando - he put up with tremendous pressure from Vettel for just under half distance, and he never put a wheel wrong. The guys is good - really, really good.

That's what separates Alonso from Massa. Which is why the media has pointed to his many mistakes this year including Monaco, totally uncharacteristic for a driver such as him.

A perfect drive for Alonso (why do some call him "Fred"? )

Kubica did well in his second stint.

Massa did well too, but eventually his tires just couldn't hold up.

Yeah I enjoyed that moment too - it created a bit of a nostalgic feeling, which reminded me the 70's. Huge flames, not just a smoke, coupled with drivers actively participating in marshalling.
