Default Kubica VS Heidfeld
Hi! I was wondering what your opinion was on Kubica and Heidfeld. It's sometimes said that Kubica is either top of the pile or very close, whereas Heidfeld is usually regarded as a midfield driver. However, these are their stats from 2007-'09:

2007:
Points: Heidfeld 61-39
Race finishes: Heidfeld 10-6
Qualifying: Heidfeld 11-5

2008:
Points: Kubica 75-60
Race finishes: Kubica 11-7
Qualifying: Kubica 13-5

2009:
Points: Heidfeld 19-7
Race finishes: Heidfeld 11-6
Qualifying: Kubica 10-7

Total:
Points: Heidfeld 140-121
Race finishes: Heidfeld 28-23
Qualifying: Kubica 28-23

So despite Heidfeld having been able to deliver better races and more points than Kubica, he's still regarded as a slow driver, whereas Kubica is seen as a great one. What's your view on this?

Evenly matched, just different TYPES of drivers. During their time together, I saw Nick as less prone to mistakes, less spectacular, whereas Robert was flashier, grittier, and over the course of a season marginally quicker on a single lap. No proof whatsoever, but I also felt like Nick dealt with a poor car better than Bobby.

Having said that RK has made few mistakes at Renault.

It just goes to show how biased people are when calling Kubica a WDC material driver and Heidfeld a midfield driver.
If it wasn't for team orders in Canada 2008 the 2008 score would have been tighter too.

Take a look at how well Heidfeld fared against Webber back in the the day at Williams BMW, and Webber is also considered top drawer driver now.

In the end if you are a very good, consistent but silent driver most people will not even notice your existence, that's Heidfeld's problem.
