Default M.Schumacher to test new Ferrari on Monday
Schumacher to test alongside Raikkonen on Monday
Friday 22 February at 16:24 : Michael Schumacher will make his debut at the wheel of Ferrari's 2008 contender at the final group test of the pre-season in Spain next week.

We have learned that the 39-year-old German, who retired from competition at the end of 2006, is scheduled to run in the F2008 on Monday, as reigning world champion Kimi Raikkonen circulates in another of the Maranello based team's Melbourne-spec single seaters at Barcelona.

Either Kimi ought to make sure his optics are topped up, or have Massa put laxatives in the Snitchengruber......

I feel sorry for Luca Badoer. Years, years as a Ferrari tester. Not a whiff of a race seat. Then this whipper-snapper called Schumacher comes along and nicks his seat

These are Ferrari's Technical Director's words:

"This week we have another three test days here at Barcelona," he added. "Also Schumacher will be here for one day: it's important to be able to count on his help as a test driver."

I have no question that BaDoer and others have contributed massively to Ferrari's success. The question is, "Do you think that ANY team would turn down a chance to get Michael's assessment of their car?"

The answer is of course no. Hell, even German taxi companies welcome his testing and feedbacl abilities.

Just over a tenth down on Kimi?.. not bad at all. Spoiled a few predictions on here that he was gonna top the timesheets though.

Is this the first time that MS and LH were on track at the same time?

Who said that?! I read this thread and didn't see such claims.

He surely helped them make the car even faster!

Actually, in another thread:

mstillhere:

MS is back - 22nd Feb 08, 19:36
It looks like MS will be testing the new Ferrari 08 next week, together with Raikkonen (if he gets better) and Massa. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2008/2/7386.html.

I bet you any money MS will be faster than his team mates.

To be honest, I think MS did great. It would have been the ultimate thriller to see him and Kimi racing together.

I see. I don't follow the forum as closely anymore.
To bet on practice fastest times is however to far fetched as there is nothing that says what setups they are testing.

Don't get your hopes up.

It's testing, it's the beginning of the year and it's more than likely they were trying different parts and set-ups.

He was blocking Kimi's last fast lap otherwise Kimi would have been 0.4 of second faster than Michael

For the record...Kimi and Michael had different set-up on their cars, so we can't compare their times
