Such a great song. I think this is a song that's still in her vocal range, so it's not hard to listen to in recent performances. I like the WTSF performance. It's not my favorite, but it is a nice, clean version of it live. The '96 lives ones are my favorite.

Anyone listen to the Howard Stern Show? All this week he has been talking about Robin's recent trip to Peru where she comsummed this hallucinogenic herb tea that made her see all the evil in the world. Robin said she was under over 6 hours and cried through most of it. Is this the same type of substance Tori used when she discussed meeting Lucifier?

From Wiki:
Ayahuasca (ayawaska pronounced [ajaˈwaska] in the Quechua language) is any of various psychoactive infusions or decoctions prepared from the Banisteriopsis spp. vine, usually mixed with the leaves of dimethyltryptamine-containing species of shrubs from the Psychotria genus. The brew, first described academically in the early 1950s by Harvard ethnobotanist Richard Evans Schultes, who found it employed for divinatory and healing purposes by the native peoples of the Amazonian Colombia, is known by a number of different names (see below). A notable property of ayahuasca is that neither of the ingredients cause any significant psychedelic effects when imbibed alone; they must be consumed together in order to have the desired effect. How indigenous peoples discovered the psychedelic properties of the ayahuasca brew remains unknown.[1]

Thanks for the information!

From the radio discussion, it seems like this stuff is pretty dangerous. I can't believe Tori woud do something so risky! I wonder how much of her "being under" surfaced and made its way back into the song.

Wasn't Tori under for an ever longer period of time (like, 20 hours)? I thought I had read something to that effect LONG ago, but it may have been a huge exaggeration.

One of my favourite songs, even though Tori did say it was never intended to be about her father, I do see a lot of my own father and me in it.

I think she said it was an 8-15 hour trip, if I remember correctly but, then again, we know how she exagerrates. Six hours seems more realistic.
