Default "It's important to me to feel my bones": the celebrity body issues thread!
Two doozies in one week!

Mariah Carey felt "rancid" while pregnant, would not let husband see her naked, missed being able to feel her bones.

Mariah Carey Thought Her Pregnant Body Was ‘Rancid,’ Prefers Being Bony

Like all stars who start fronting for The Diet Plan Formerly Known as Jenny Craig [referential gag copyright: Margaret Hartmann], Mariah Carey has been talking about her views on weight loss. Unlike the others, however, she's quite happy to publicly disclose her crippling body dysmorphia. Saying she felt "rancid" while pregnant, Mimi admits she would wear a towel in the bath so her husband and father of her then-unborn children wouldn't see her in the ghastly state of pregnancy. "I had a towel on in the tub," she said. "I'm not lying, I promise you! You think I would let Nick see me looking rancid like that?" And it doesn't end there, speaking of her excitement of losing 70lbs, she confesses she's happy she can feel her bones again. FEEL. HER. BONES. "I know it was a number that I never want to see again," she adds. "I had, like, no bones for a while," she said, gesturing to her collarbone. "It's important to me to feel my bones!" Jesus, poor Mariah.

Meanwhile, Victoria's Secret doesn't just like its models starving - dehydration is a great way to lose a few pounds as well!

Keep it going, this is one depressing-as-fuck thread that could just run and run (until it cramps up and its body starts to eat itself).

She sees a nutritionist, who has measured her body's muscle mass, fat ratio and levels of water retention. He prescribes protein shakes, vitamins and supplements to keep Lima's energy levels up during this training period. Lima drinks a gallon of water a day. For nine days before the show, she will drink only protein shakes — "no solids." The concoctions include powdered egg. Two days before the show, she will abstain from the daily gallon of water, and "just drink normally." Then, 12 hours before the show, she will stop drinking entirely. "No liquids at all so you dry out, sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that," she says. All this fuckery just so some corporation can sell some rather low-quality underwear. It would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic. Or even a slightly less crappy underwear manufacturer. But anyway, look at the 'natural' beauty, everyone! I LOOK LIKE THIS NATURALLY. SOME WOMEN ARE JUST NATURALLY THIN. Whee!

Reminds me of how Carol Alt and other major 70s models were horribly eating disordered, being ordered to eat no more than a head of lettuce a day by their agents. Of course, they only spoke about this after retirement. At the time, of course, they could never admit it, much like most celebs won't now. Bad image for clients and the industry, so verboten. I particularly love the ones who insist they never work out and 'just eat normally'. Nobody in that profession eats normally, let alone the female bobbleheads. Did you see that 'model school' for teens on Jezebel recently? They had already thin girls in their mid-teens on diets of a couple of egg whites and a few vegetables, combined with several hours of heavy exercise a day, and had made them believe that this was healthy. Newsflash: eating fewer calories than a concentration camp inhabitant during WW2 is NEVER healthy. It doesn't even have a passing relationship with the word. What it is, is insane, stupid, brutal, abusive and very, very unhealthy.

Also, protein shakes are not food and I despise people who think they are. It's like shitting on the entire history of food as a pleasure and a social convention. Also also! If you have to load up on supplements to make sure you don't get beri-beri or scurvy (which I presume 'keeping your energy up' is code for, 'cos only actual food will do that, not vitamins), it's a sign your big 'diet' is wretched and any doctor who encourages this kind of thing instead of telling you to eat actual food should get fucked.

Can this topic include the face bones as well?
Because Kylie certainly has lost them.

She got annoyed at everyone bashing her face this week in London and tweeted:
‘So, I have been filmed out in public the last three nights & suddenly it is “reported” I cannot move my face? What a load of rubbish. Annoying’ Yes but honey have you seen your face, lately?

Oh please, Kylie has been a botox victim for years now. I think she gets it on special bulk buy with Nicole Kidman.

Kylie, would it make you feel better if people said it only looked like you can't move your face?

^no shit, right? I'm a beast and I can feel the bones in my collarbone, wrists, hips and ankles. I don't even remember her looking any heavier for a normal pregnancy weight gain than any other woman. It might have something to do with the pressure for these celebrities to get down to their svelte selves as soon as they pop the kid out.

She's likely required to say as many self-hating things as possible about her 'before' self as a condition of her shilling for Jenny Craig. Actually, the self-loathing must be intense simply for the fact she feels she HAS to take a contract shilling crap diet products. I mean, when you used to make your income from selling records it must be a real come-down for the old ego to have to go on the box talking about how fat you got once and how you miraculously lost it through the miracle of some shit diet plan that everyone knows everyone gains the weight back from 95%+ of the time. Honestly, if I were a recording artist I'd probably want to shoot myself from the shame of sinking so low. Personally, I'd rather have less money and more dignity.

To me, that just looks like a bad in-between shot. I just saw her on some show performing recently and her face didn't look any different than it usually does. I'm sure she's probably had some botox, though.

The brown hair is for a movie role, I hear. I much prefer a reddish-blonde tint.

Yeah, there are other recent pics of her where she looks perfectly normal. I've no doubt she's pumping botox into her face on the weekly, but that photo is more of a one-off that happens to be in massive circulation right now. She generally looks like... well, Kylie.

I quite like Courtney's outfit there and her face isn't any more busted up with botox and bad surgery than many other celebs, especially taking into account how many drugs she's shovelled into herself over the past 25 years. I think the only thing that's really off there is the hairdo - if you're going to try that kind of vintage style it's best to not to have giant black roots and a messy straw quality to the rest of your hair.
