But... they still proved once again that they are indeed brain dead

Other results from the straw poll: Just 2% approved of President Obama's job; 62% approved of the job congressional Republicans are doing; 73% had a favorable view of GOP Sen. Jim DeMint; 70% had a favorable view of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck; 56% had a favorable view of John Boehner, and 51% had a favorable view of Mitch McConnell.

Isn't Ron Paul like 85? He'll have a heart attack before the next election and all the conspiracy theoirsts, sorry "conservatives", will blame it on the shadow world government NWO Illuminati Zurich bankers sitting in the hollow earth core and then the republican party either implodes or seizes power in a military coup.

Paul has run on the libertarian ticket before, he chooses not to anymore because ballot and debate restrictions make third party runs a waste of time and money. He has made this pretty clear. USA is currently built for two parties, and two parties only.

Strangely enough, he was not invited to the fourth Repub debate in 2008 after winning all three previous debate polls by a good margin.

You wish. She's a red herring; a tool for vetting ideas; a remnant of social authoritarianism.

Obama's approval rating couldn't beat Capt. Crunch in an election right now and he is about to massively lose his supermajority. He will not be doing any "what the hell he wants" at all. It' over.

Fair enough. I haven't followed American politics since Reagan.

Does anyone think Ron Paul could actually do anything?
of course, he can do all sorts of stuff - like dramatically reduce or end the "war on terror" and return the matter to where it belongs, with intel and policing. And he can end the drug war even faster. We've been at war for decades, dont the 2 parties ever get tired of war? I get the impression they need it...

A fair impression, I think.

Do you really think he would do those things, though? Both of those things have lots of powerful people deeply invested in them. They wouldn't just roll over. They'd fight (politically - I'm not suggesting a coup).

But the problem is Congress more than the Presidency.
