It's not about the amount of influence. It's about what form that influence took.

I wouldn't call HK a "major" entertainment center. It's strictly second-rate.

Dude, HK was living off of Bruce Lee for 20 years after he died. It's not the chicoms fault that people finally stopped watching that ****.

South Korea has maybe the best national broadband network in the world. It smokes US infrastructure.

And the best professional video game players.

Hot chicks.
Jap and Chinese girls are hotter. Korean girls also have no self respect, which is why they seek out pathetic GIs like Oerdin. Jesus Christ, I only wish I had blond hair to go along with my blue eyes. Seriously, my Nordic looking friend had to beat Korean chicks away with a stick. Damn you Father! Damn you and the Celtic red-brown hair you gave me!

On the upside I had a white girlfriend for most of my time in Korea. That was, in the American community anyway, like having gold. You were the subject of envy for having a white girl. Honestly, the Korean guys seemed to want white girls too even if only for the novelty factor. I guess that's why Russian hookers did such a good business. We all looked down on them but the Korean guys went crazy for them.

That probably would have worked. You got enough attention even without it though. Much more then you got at home.

Also in the Army you don't have much hair to bleach/dye. It would grow out and expose the roots in just a couple of days.
Hadn't thought of that. I'd forgotten how fast hair grows if you're cutting it on a regular basis.

Cilantro is the leaf. Coriander is the seed.
According to dumb culinarily challenged Americans it might be.

However, seeing as the 'erb'* originated from the Mediterranean area and was named in antiquity, Coriander is the original and therefore correct name.

* Translated for all those dumb yanks who don't realise they're pronouncing 'herb' like the French (I can see Slowwie choking on his corndogs as he reads this).

Best professional video game players that don't pull skirt. FACT. In the computer game shows there's always a bunch of middle school girls cheering their lungs out. Really scary...

The National War museum was just so big and so lavish it was they type of thing only a military dictatorship could build Um, construction completed on it in 1993, which means that the money to build it was set aside during the military dictatorship.

Also Korea has contributed 뼈해장국 (bbyo haejangguk) to the world, for this much is forgiven.
