Serb, I'm not saying KB:Legend was a bad game, I think it's better than the original Kings Bounty, and I think it's superior to HOMM IV (which was crap) and HOMM V, which was somewhat better than IV.
I'd rank em: HOMM II HOMM III HOMM I, (if only for the Jester on Insane difficulty!) KB: The Legend KB: HOMM V HOMM IV |

I've played the new King's Bounty games, and they're good, but not compelling. If I happen to be bored and start playing, I generally have a good time. But I don't find myself sitting around at work thinking about the game. A compelling game gets into your head so that everything is viewed in the prism. Play too much Tetris and you'll start seeing falling blocks everywhere you go. KB just doesn't do that.
Side note: Why doesn't the spell check recognize Tetris by default? |
