Raccoons are absolutely vicious. My father tried live trapping them so he could relocate them, but after a few encounters with the caged raccoons he would just rather shoot them.

Most animals bolt after being released from a live trap. Raccoons charge.

They can be. The ones which lived in Santa Barbara though seemed to be semi tame or at least used to having lots of humans around. They'd literally walk up to us to see if we had food and would let us pet them. There was a raccoon nest right out the front door of the dinning commons and all the little babies would sit on the grass and beg food as people left. People would lay down on the grass and the raccoons would climb right up on top of them or sometimes they'd but their heads up against your hand because they wanted you to pet the top of their head like a dog.

Personally, I think a raccoon would make a great pet if you could some how get rid of their curiosity which makes them want to get into, knock over, taste, or just wreck things for fun.

Lincoln was too nice. He should've salted your fields and sold you all off into slavery...

Raccoons may now be discussed with tigers, bears and leopards.

My work here is done.
