It's because I fail to see more relation between anti-gay terrorism and liberal nations other than the very fact that gay activity is allowed only in liberal nations. Thus, "joining the club of liberal nations" has already been complete with allowing public gay life alltogether, not with anti gay violence.

Israel has lots of religious extremists and there's been hate crimes perpetrated by those people before. I seem to recall redaing they are multiplying faster than the rest of the population too so we will probably see more of this in the future.

Btw, there is no conclusive evidence that the killer was hassidic. He could have easily been any religious type, but very violent. Maybe had a personal vendetta (ie - his kid was gay, and he blamed the consulting center for 'brainwash').
