Default Ignore list functionality
I second this. I frequently need to give some posters a time-out of 2 to 3 days, depending on the severity of their retardation infraction. But I need to remember. It's so much work.

Some people, like blackice, are still on there. I don't remember what he did, or when he did it, or if he even still posts.

Wasn't blackice the one who beat up his wife or something?

Now, now rah. For you, I'll be sure to make a note of it. How does Aug. 13 4pm strike you?

That sounds about right.

Merely seeing Ben's avatar sets me into a fit of rage that can't be stopped.
AFAICT, so does getting out of bed.

I don't understand why you would ever have un-ignored him in the first place.

Asher probably has the same character flaw I do: excessive faith in humankind.

I'm against. I use the list, but I like that it is easy to put people on or off. No need for extra programming for time periods. If someone goes on my list they are most likely not coming off. I have made one exception, and it worked smoothly. Leave the process alone.

What if we make the default "forever"? No additional buttons for you to click.

Do you really think you can put an admin on ignore and keep them there? The person who runs the system is impervious to such tactics. Or should be.

He said he was currently working on the feature, not that it exists already. Tard

I'm thinking a better solution would be to stealth ban people who anger me.

They can still post on this site...and to them it looks like they're posting. But no one else would see their posts.

Everybody wins.

Thats my approach-- I don't know if I ever used the ignore feature-- I probably did at some time but now I just read selectively-- Hell I "ignore" whole threads

I don't think I'll change-- I don't pay attention enough to recall which of you is a right wing nutjob , or a commie nutjob or whatever so if the topic interests me I am usually willing to hear what everyone has to say
Come the revolution I have a lamp post reserved for you.

Can I put, say, Drake on KH's ignore list by posting 3 times in a row?

I'm pretty sure I'm already on KH's ignore list.

I like to put people on my ignore list and then pull them off after a few months to check if there's been any improvement in their posts. However, I'm finding it a hassle to manage my ignore list. I tend to forget when I put certain people on it, and making a note of each addition seems to be too much like work. Therefore, I'd like to request a feature that allows me to enter an ignore period (in days, say) each time I add somebody. At the end of that period, the person would automatically be removed from my ignore list and I would be able to read their posts again.

Pros? Cons?
Here's an idea for you. Quit being such a candy ass. Do you think you have the mental fortitude to accomplish such a task?
Naturally, I'm skeptical.

who's more foolish the troller or the one that always gets trolled?

it's nothing but an ego game, well, everywhere in life now really. It's the times we live in, nothing can be done about it for the rest of our lives, anywhere on earth... only to start with YOUR own reactions.
