**** Java. Use a real language.

C++ is much, much, bigger from what I understand. At least in the physics part of the ecology.
Java has a huge foothold on Wall Street. Both C++ and Java (not desktop apps, but the risk systems, backend systems) dominate there.

how much does this thing cost?
Asher has it right. I might add that this is for the base model, without the mission modules. The "economic benefit" from these is the extremely low personnel costs, which absorb a plurality of the budget.

You went to "Transformers 2," thus the above post and everything else you say can be summarily disregarded
I think I may hate you.

Please tell me you didn't validate the hollywood summer **** fest phenomenon by going to see that POS? At least tell me you thought it was a POS...
I saw it on the IMAX at Udvar-Hazy. The one that(in the film) is located in Virginia but the outside resembles an aircraft boneyard in the Southwest.

Lonestar likes all special effects heavy, plotless childrens' movies like Star Wars...
I enjoy movies for what they are. Same with the other guys who plopped down three quarters of a billion dollars to see it this summer.

I saw Dark Knight there. Definitely the best theater in the area for summer blockbusters.

BlackCat is describing the defining property of functional languages, i.e. that functions are first-class objects. This means you can generate new functions at runtime, assign them to variables, and pass them into functions as arguments.

e.g. you could have a function map(func, list) that would behave as such:
map(lambda x: x+1, [0, 3, 17]) would return [1, 4, 18]

There's a RAM located aft for that. Not much in the way of air defense beyond that, but it is not meant to operate by itself in a hostile air environment(I know, I know, famous last words...).
They're gonna freakin' ram incoming missles? Was this thing designed by the Confederate Navy?

Can't they detail Shore Patrol to protect it when in port?

It's probably nice to have the ability to make such turns when there are torpedoes, but how does she deal with "exocet"'s ? (replace exocet with newest such thingy).
It looks stealthy to me.

so why the need for speed? To get to whereever it's needed ASAP?

You would be surprised how steathy those things can be regardless of the shape. A DDG looks no bigger than a small fishing ship on radar, this things profile is much smaller. Since it is operating in the litorals looking no different than the hundred other small fishing/utility vessels all over the place is stealth.

Oh. He was Vice President under Clinton. Later he went on to win an Oscar for a documentary he made, and he now makes occasional guest appearances on South Park.
