Default The Swine Flu Of 1976
If it had been bad, they'd be hailed as heroes.

Conservatives have always opposed vaccinations. It interferes with God's will. They oppose Gardisil because it's one less lethal STD people would have to worry about, meaning that people might be more willing to have sex.

Unfortunately, a bunch of empty headed liberals are also anti-vaccination, because they believe that thimerisol causes autism.

Christian Scientists don't like medicine. Methodists don't like people who lie.

There was a vaccination. It hurt more than it helped. One time that I bucked a military directive.

Yeah, except Christian Scientists didn't exist when the first vaccination campaigns began. I have no idea where Methodists stood on inoculating people with cow pox, but in general, it was conservative Christians who opposed it, on the grounds that illness was God's will. You people have a long history of opposing science.

Check the timeline. They stopped it before they knew the flu was a dud. The perceived risk was the same as when they launched the effort. It was just that bad.
