Default I really, really hate smokers
Well, my upstairs neighbor is playing a ****ing saxaphone right now. Sadly, that's preferable to the shitty jazz riffs he's been playing on his electric keyboard lately.

I save the headphones for emergencies, like when my roommate is having sex.

I don't even know which one is doing it. It might even be someone on another floor, I don't know how the ventilation is wired here.

You would make a terrible special forces soldier.
I have problems with authority. You are correct.

I'm more like the guy at the command posts that orders *****es like you to go find out where the smell is coming from and fix it. I can't be bothered to do it myself.

Do you some sort of resident council thing, what are those called? The tenants of the house come together to disgus and decide on things just like this, whether or not smoking is allowed inside, on balcony, etc. Are there any sort of rules in the building, anyways? No pets, no loud music after 10 pm? Time to suggest a new rule, I can't believe you are the only one bothered. If 10 tenants complain about the habits of 1, who is the renter going to lean on?

Just random thoughts. Needs me sleep...
I've complained to the management company (a huge management company owns a complex of buildings and I just live in one of many). They say they can't do anything because it's perfectly legal to smoke in one's private residences and there's nothing in the rentral contract about smoking restrictions.

Smoke weed. It'll cancel out the smell, help you relax, and it's a good way to support Canadian agriculture instead of a bunch of Carolina hillbillies.

Now see? Here's another point I need to address. While I'll agree with you that North Carolina cigs taste like dirt, not Virginian.
I.E. Marlboro.

We used to have farms in Southern Maryland. Went to one as a kid for a field trip on colonial history. I think most of them have gone bust though.

Buy Altria's and Phillip Morris International's stock, so you can at least benefit from their addiction.

Almost 9 months for me now. I still want one every day, and smoke in my dreams almost every night.

Hopefully I'll stay strong.

Use the smoker as a reason to break your lease and move to a smoke free building.

Then you should probably spend your time posting useless rants on Internet forums.

I think it is funny how non-smokers feel they have a right to dictate the rules in the common areas but now also think they have a right to dictate the rules in a person's own domicile.

And I'm a non-smoker.
I'm trying to dictate the rules in my own domicile. It's currently being invaded by smokers.

When I was younger before I owned my own house and lived in an apartment, we had new neighbors move in that were Indian. They all left there shoes outside their front door and the hallway stank of shoe odor. Within a month the entire building smelled of curry. We complained to the management and they said they coudlnt' do anything since shoes and curry were legal. We moved into a single family dwelling Where since we had a young daughter, I was forced to smoke in the garage. I was exercising my manly rights

But non-smokers have no desire to compromise, they want to force their morals on everyone. There's where I take exception to all of this. Exactly. I'm a non-smoker. If someone wants to light up go right ahead. I really don't get all the fuss about second hand smoke. If I don't want to be there, I can just go somewhere else.
