I wouldn't worry about safety hazards too much. Cats are not ferrets, or even dogs; they generally are smart/instinctive/whatever enough to avoid killing themselves. I think this does not hold true for some extremely inbred varieties, but assuming you're not an ass, you'll be adopting them from a shelter anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem. I have three cats, and an apartment that would have about 99.9% chance of killing a crawling baby if I were to have one around, and none of them have died yet, or even suffered any injuries significant enough to be noticed, in the last three or so years http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Asher, and Snoop but accidents can still happen even with intelligent cats.

Say two cats are playing with one another and running around the bed like crazy and wrestling with one another and one of them accidentally pokes itself with one of those screws. You don't see that ever happening?

Why take the chance? Cut the screws off. Hacksaws are cheaper than vet bills.

Screw caps - if there is such thing - will work better. Yes, but then you need to find them to fit on your screws exactly. If theyre too big the cats can take them off and choke on them. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Just ****ing get down to Home Depot and buy a hacksaw. You can get one for like 10$. Cut off the screw as close to the base as possible.

Those exposed screws are more a danger to you than they would be to cats, MrFun. And it's good to own a hacksaw, so get on with it.

The basics of cat ownership are pretty straightforward:
1) Keep the letterbox reasonably clean.
2) Feed regularly; use low-ash food.

The cat pretty much takes care of the rest.

Have you tried rubbing cat nip on the furniture to see if that enocurages them to use them?

1) Put tennis balls over the screws.

2) Buy a cheap hacksaw ($10).
